Leading By Influence

Developing trust and increasing impact Looking at the world around us, it might seem that influence is something automatically gained through money, power, and a title. But leading by influence isn’t based on hierarchy or a corner office—it’s based on trust. Great design leaders motivate people by eliciting desire and conviction to reach their shared goals. They don’t wield influence like a hammer. This is true whether you’re an individual contributor seeking to influence your senior leaders and peers, or a manager who needs to influence multiple cross-functional teams. In this design leadership workshop, you’ll explore influence from multiple perspectives, discuss how to exercise it through shared currencies, and learn methodologies for influencing others. What you’ll learn In this leadership workshop, you’ll find answers to these questions and more: What’s the difference between authority and influence? What does influence feel like at its best (and worst)? How do I put new ideas on the roadmap? How do I leverage my strengths to influence others? Can I influence others without a manager title? Who should attend Individual contributors and Managers (all levels and roles)
